Why is the Aqua-TEC unit so heavy?

It is true that Aqua-TEC is the heaviest of the competitive products available. We could build smaller units from lighter weight (and less costly) materials, but that would compromise reliability and ultimately result in greater life-cycle costs. The real answer is that we know from experience what works and what lasts; this dictates our design as well as the selection of materials and vendors. We use heavier gauge powder coated cabinetry that is designed to reflect quality for the life of the product. We design the cabinet with appropriate space for service/maintenance access and we provide double wall access panels to improve seals and preserve the integrity of the insulation while facilitating cleaning for the life of the unit. We even use extra copper piping to create vibration isolation loops and a refrigerant circuit that is robust in the face of operation and resistant to over the road shipping damage.
